Campus Crime Statistics

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure Of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crimes Statistics

The Campus Security Act was enabled in 1998. Any marked increase across year or in the revised statistics from previous years can be accounted for by the fact that the geographic boundaries for reporting were greatly expanded in 1998, and reporting of drug, alcohol, and weapon violations has also been broadened to include not only arrests but also disciplinary referrals. This category includes on-campus, including those listed in the category below, "In dormitories or other residential facilities." Therefore, the two categories are not cumulative, but duplicative.
