Systems Programmer/AdministratorSiena College is searching for a key member of our Information Technology Administrative Computing Services team. Our professional team serves the application systems needs of the entire campus community including Banner and third party software applications. The individual will work as a Systems Programmer/Administrator in supporting existing software packages as a programmer and assess the need for enhancements and make recommendations for utilizing software for automation improvements. Business process improvement analysis and developing new initiatives based on the analysis of the software being used on campus is encouraged. This includes Banner Module support and improvements, support of packaged software functionality in our inventory, and custom programming required to progress the IT environment into the modern era. Opportunity for project management and leadership of initiatives in the Administrative Computing Services area in included. Systems programming and administrator duties include database usage and customization, report programming, script programming and related software support responsibilities. Must work collaboratively with administrative departments and key users on campus as well as IT team members in order to seek IT support improvements for the software environment. A bachelor’s degree is required, as well as a working knowledge of enterprise-level software and modern process methodologies that are practiced in supporting large-scale systems and multi-user software environments. Knowledge of database and recent generation programming languages is strongly preferred. Excellent customer service skills and an attention to detail are very important.
