Graduate Assistant - Campus Programs and Student Activities

The Office of Campus Programs and Student Activities at Siena College seeks a dynamic, flexible, and self-motivated Graduate Assistant to support and enhance the programs and operations of the office, and the Sarazen Student Union. The successful candidate will be a matriculated graduate student in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. This is a 9-month position and requires approximately 15 hours of work per week, including evening program implementation and supervision. This position provides an opportunity for a graduate student to work in a variety of areas within Student Affairs at an independent, Catholic, private institution in the Franciscan Tradition.

Position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Late Night Sarazen (LNS):
• Supervise LNS student workers with planning and implementation of LNS
• Assist with planning and implementation of LNS
• Advertisement and promotion of LNS
• Serve as a liaison between the Office of Campus Programs and Student Activities and external agencies and performers.

Wellness Workshop Series (WWS):
• Plan, implement and supervise WWS – Monday Days and Wednesday Evenings
• Advertisement and promotion of WWS
• Plan and implement an Alcohol Awareness Event per semester
• Plan and implement an AIDS/HIV Awareness Event
• Plan and implement one Wellness Fair per academic year
• Research and produce a Wellness Newsletter once per month (Healthlines)

Qualifications for this position include:

o Must be a matriculated Higher Education/College Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or other applicable field.
o Administrative and programming background preferred
o Interest in and awareness of college age developmental issues
o Work well in large and small group setting
o Work well in autonomous and independent setting
o Must be wiling to share her/his knowledge in both formal and informal ways
