Study

You are invited to participate in a study regarding attitudes about sexual orientation in yourself and others. We hope results from this study will ultimately lead to improvement in the mental health of sexual minorities. You are a possible participant because you found the link to the study or were forwarded the link from someone who believes you might be a good candidate for the study. You must be at least 18 years of age to complete the study.

If you decide to participate we will be requesting the following involvement from you: You will be asked to respond to a series of questions related to feelings about yourself and others, a few questions regarding alcohol use, some demographic questions (e.g., age; race; sexual orientation; etc.), and a task where you will categorize pictures and words into their appropriate categories. The entire study should take no more than 15 minutes. Minimal, if any, discomfort is expected.

No personally identifying information (i.e., your name; IP address) will be collected. Because we do not know how everyone will respond to our study, we cannot accurately give your personal results. However, if you are interested in a similar opportunity (research or non-research) you will be given a link at the end of the study. However, if you are interested in the overall results of this study once it is completed, you can contact the main researcher, Dr. Dean M. Amadio, at damadio@siena.edu. You will also be given this contact information at the completion of the study.

Your decision about whether or not to participate will not prejudice your future relations with Siena College. If you decide to participate, you are free to discontinue participation at any time without prejudice.
