College-Wide Honors Program
The Honors program fosters the intellectual and aesthetic growth of its students through personal interaction with faculty and staff both inside and outside of the classroom. The Honors program expands opportunities to develop critical and creative thinking; to gather, synthesize, and analyze evidence in making reasoned and informed judgments; to appreciate cultural diversity; and to enhance written and oral communication skills.
Around 30-35 students enter Siena as College Wide Honors Fellows at the request of the Honors Director. The program is flexible and offers multiple points of entry. Honors Fellows must maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout their studies at Siena.
Admission to the ProgramAs entering freshmen, Presidential Scholars at Siena can be considered for the College Wide Honors program. Students should write a letter or email Katie Cooney Lesko in the Office of Admissions by March 5 stating they are interested in applying to the Honors Program. If you would like to provide the committee with additional information, please do so by March 5.
