Apply For Undergraduate Direct Stafford LoanAll new student borrowers are required to complete the following steps for the Federal Direct Stafford loan program for the 2013-2014 academic year.
If you have borrowed a Federal Direct Stafford loan at Siena in a previous academic year, you are only required to complete step 1 and 2. 1. File your 2013-2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov 2. *New for 2013-2014* Accept your Federal Direct Stafford Loan(s) via Web4Student 3. Complete Direct Stafford Entrance Counseling at www.studentloans.gov 4. Complete Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) at www.studentloans.gov Completing Your Entrance Counseling:
Once at www.studentloans.gov, use the instructions provided below:
1. Sign in under "Manage My Direct Loan" 2. Select “Complete Entrance Counseling” 3. Read through instructions and select “Complete Entrance Counseling” 4. Be sure to select that you are an undergraduate student 5. Click "Continue" to begin the Entrance Counseling Quiz 6. Add Siena College as your school 7. Complete the Counseling Session/Quiz 8. Read "Borrower's Rights and Responsibilities" Statement and hit the Submit button (Siena will receive an electronic record of this) Completing Your Direct Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note : (Only required if you have not previously borrowed through the Direct Loan Stafford program while an undergrad at Siena College)
Once at www.studentloans.gov, use the instructions provided below:
1. Sign in under "Manage My Direct Loan" 2. Select "Complete Master Promissory Note" from the middle of the page 3. Select "Subsidized/Unsubsidized" 4. Enter Personal Information 5. Select New York and then "Siena College" from the drop-down menus of the School and Loan Information Section 6. Enter Personal Reference Information 7. Read Terms and Conditions carefully 8. Review your information and sign and submit your MPN (Siena will receive an electronic copy)
