What is there to do in the Capital Region?
Capital Region is a great place to live and learn, to work and play. Activities range from hiking and skiing in the Catskills and Adirondack Mountains to attending concerts and sporting events in downtown Albany. 

 

Is Siena in Albany?
Siena is located in Loudonville, NY about 10 minutes north of Albany. Loudonville is an affluent, residential community with easy access to restaurants, malls, movie theatres, and other colleges.  Our students enjoy the residential community and yet can be in the "hustle and bustle" of the city. 

 

Are there other colleges in the Capital Region?
Albany is rated the #4 college town in the nation. There are a variety of colleges and professional schools belonging to the Hudson-Mohawk Association. 

 

Where is the closest mall?
Colonie Center is about 10 minutes away from campus. on Wolf Road. Crossgates, the largest mall in Albany, is about 20 minutes away

 

How do students get around the Capital Region?
Students will carpool with other students. Many of our students take cabs ($2 a person for 4 person cab) to the mall, movies, or downtown. We also have a CDTA bus route that stops on Route 9 in front of Siena Hall. For a dollar, students can easily travel around Albany.
