Is Siena a "suitcase" school?
Siena has a very active college campus. Most students stay on campus on the weekends.
What is there to do on the weekends?
You will not be bored. From athletics to theatre, there is always something to do. If you want to get off campus, Capital Region offers numerous opportunities.
What are some of the most popular activities?
Every major has a club and anyone can join. There's Student Senate, Student Events Board, Stage Three, Black and Latino Student Union, Intramurals, Siena Mentoring Program, Habitat for Humanity, the list goes on. Any interests you have can be pursued at Siena.
What are the residence halls like?
Freshmen are housed in Hines, Hennepin, Plassmann, and Ryan Hall. A variety of on-campus housing options are available for upper-class students. Padua Hall, our newest residence hall, features oversized rooms with private bathrooms. Most juniors and seniors live in MacClosky Square and Cushing Village, the townhouses on campus.
How is the food?
The food is great. The Dining Hall just completed a 4.5 million dollar renovation. It has a variety of food, continual dining hours and all you can eat style. There is also a coffeehouse on campus, and a sub shop/pizza place in O'Leary's Pub.
Do I have to bring a computer?
You do not have to bring a computer. There are computer labs on campus, two of which are open 24 hours a day. Every residence hall room has one computer port for each student.
Can I study abroad?
Yes, students are able to study in almost any country. Generally, students will study abroad during their junior year of college. With careful planning, a student with any major may take advantage of the study abroad opportunities.
Are there internships?
A variety of internship opportunities are available in any major.
