FAQs for Prospective Freshman Admissions

What information is reviewed during the admission process?
The Admissions Committee looks at your four-year high school curriculum, a GPA of B average, extracurricular activities, SAT/or ACT scores, essay, school counselor recommendations and anything else you would like to share.  Admissions is looking to accept students who will be successful and graduate from Siena in four years.

What are the average GPA and SAT/ACTs?
Students who gain admissions to Siena have a strong B/B+ average or higher in solid high school courses and have between 1100-1300 on the critical reading and math SAT or 24-27 on the ACT.

What is your SAT/ACT code?
Siena's code is 2814

Do you take the highest SAT Reasoning Test or ACT Score?
The Admissions Committee uses the highest critical reading and highest math SAT, or the ACT to be reviewed with the application.

Are SAT Subject Tests required?
No.

Are interviews required?
Interviews are not required, but recommended.  They are a great opportunity to meet an admissions representative and get your questions answered.  We highly recommend visiting campus for one or more of our admissions programs.

Is there a foreign language requirement?
Siena would like to see high school students take a sequence in foreign language for admission.

May I apply online?
Yes, you may apply online. Please use the Common Application and the Siena Supplement (.pdf).  Just remember to give your school counselor the Secondary School Report form so we can receive your high school transcript, letter of recommendation, and testing scores.
