Actuarial Science

Actuarial Science is an interdisciplinary course of study combining theory amnd application from the areas of mathematics, finance, economics and computer science.  Actuaries apply statistical and financial theories to problems that occur in the business world.  The problems typically involve analyzing the probability of the occurance of future events.

These professionals can be responsible for:

  • Pension plan design
  • Risk management
  • Asset/fund management and investment
  • Product development and pricing
  • Establishment of insurance premiums
