Our StaffThe Promethean Editorial Board2012-2013Marissa Potts
co-Editor-in-Chief Hello Siena! My name is Marissa Potts and I am the co Editor in Chief of the Promethean. I am very excited to be such an important part of the Promethean team. I am an English and Spanish double major, and am also involved in the Pre-Law and Honors Programs. In addition to my involvement with the Promethean, I am also a writing consultant at the Writing Center, an RA in Hennepin, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the Pre Law fraternity.
One of the reasons I became involved with the Promethean is because I loved the idea of bringing all aspects of the Siena campus together in one resource that everyone could share. The Writers, Editors and Editors in Chief work hard to make the Promethean a fun and professional representation of the Siena community, and we are very excited to share that with everyone! If you are interested in becoming involved with the Promethean, send us an email at newspaper@siena.edu!
Mike Clemens Hi Everyone! My name is Mike Clemens and I am very excited to begin my first year as The Promethean’s Assistant Editor. This is my second year writing for the newspaper and my first as a member of its editorial board.
I am a sophomore English Major and Writing Minor from a very small town in southwestern Connecticut. Aside from The Promethean I am also a member of Siena’s College Republicans.
After I graduate I plan on going into Public Relations and eventually working towards a career as an author. I’m very happy to be back working for The Promethean and I hope that everyone enjoys a fun and successful fall semester. Caitlyn Baranowski News Editor Class of 2014 ![]() Welcome back everyone! My name is Caitlin Baranowski. I’m a junior Political Science major with a Pre-Law Certificate from Mahopac, New York. This will be my first year as News Editor.
I decided to join The Promethean staff as a way to become more involved on campus and meet new people. In addition to the paper, I am also involved with the Red Cross Club, Habitat for Humanity, and the Ambassadors club. Looking forward to another great year!
Patrick Van Dyke Sports Editor Class of 2013 ![]() Hey everyone, I’m Pat Van Dyke and I am a senior marketing major here at Siena. I’m really excited about this position as I am huge sports fan. I’ve been involved with the Promethean since my freshman year and I have loved it ever since.
I used to write for the A&E section of the paper and within that section I wrote about comedies and horror shows, so being the sports editor won’t be too much of a stretch considering I am a diehard Jets fan. If you see me Tebowing on the quad or going to every Sunday mass, don’t be alarmed, it’s usually because there is a big Jets game going on. Aside from being an editor, I am also involved in the Emmaus faith sharing group, which is run through the chapel and is Tebow approved. I hope everyone has a great year and let’s go Jets! Gabrielle Calbrese Arts and Entertainment Editor Hi, everybody! My name is Gabrielle Calabrese and I am extremely excited to be the new Arts and Entertainment editor for the Promethean this year! I am a senior double major in English and American Studies from the very small town of Grahamsville in Sullivan County, NY. This is my second year writing for the paper and my second time as an editor. Last spring I was the co-editor for the Opinion section with one of our co-Editors-in-Chief now, Olivia Phetteplace! Mitchel Clow Web Editor Class of 2013 ![]() I am a senior and the web editor for The Promethean, which is a brand new venture of the student run newspaper. I’m a senior Creative Arts major with a concentration in Journalism, and have been writing movie reviews for the Promethean since my freshman year.
I live locally, but choose to live on campus. My future ambitions include moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment journalism. I also one day hope to be a movie critic for entertainment website IGN.com Other than writing for the newspaper, I participate in the SCTV program, DJ my own show on 88.3 The Saint, and podcast for the TV shows Glee and Smash on the entertainment website Hypable.com. m11clow@siena.edu
