Theatre and drama play a valued artistic role in how we creatively portray and understand life, how we teach and entertain, and how we collaborate and collectively express ideas.

Siena students have the opportunity to pursue a certificate in theatre to:
  • Become familiar with its theory, history and aesthetics
  • Cultivate an appreciation of complex artistic expression
  • Develop first-hand experience and essential skills
  • Learn to think creatively and critically
  • Apply principles in theatrical production
  • Foster respect for one’s self, colleagues, audience and community

In the Theatre Program, students engage in acting, directing, design and technology. They gain knowledge and skills applicable to a variety of careers including drama directors, theatre practitioners/managers, and educators in the secondary school system, as well as numerous careers outside the theatre.

Students enrolled in the program also have the option of choosing an internship with a professional theatre organization.
