Core courses offered in the Philosophy Department are designed to stimulate and expand student thought about humanity, God, and the nature of reality. They contribute to intellectual growth and maturity by providing a view from which to see human life as a unified whole.
Majors in philosophy typically score high on standardized professional tests and go on to careers in law, business, journalism, higher education, religion and government. They also enjoy excellent placement success in prestigious graduate schools.
The program's courses are enhanced by activities of the Philosophy club, the Living Philosopher’s Symposium, the Phi Sigma Tau national honor society and collaboration with a diverse and accomplished faculty.
