Work Study Job Opportunities

Do you have a work-study grant from as part of your financial aid package?
Would you like to work in a fun and exciting office?

If so, consider applying for a work-study position in the Office of Residential Life.  Each year, every Residence Director will hire student workers to help out in the hall offices (Hennepin, Hines, New Hall, Padua, Plassmann, Ryan, Townhouses.) by making and hanging posters, filing, and other errands to help with the day to day operations of our residential community.  We also have positions open in our main office, located in Sarazen Student Union, room 318 for students looking for an opportunity to work.

Some of the opportunities available for our work-study students include:

  • Writing for your residence hall’s newspaper
  • Gaining new technology skills by working with BlackBoard
  • Helping to create advertisements and posters for campus and hall-wide events
  • Assisting with various office projects and tasks

If you are interested in joining our staff, then please be sure to stop by the office of your Residence Director.  Once your application is complete, Residence Directors will usually conduct brief interviews.  If hired, you will be required to go to the Office of Financial Aid to pick up the appropriate paperwork for your new supervisor to sign in order to begin issuing you a paycheck (bi-weekly).

If you have any questions about work study, please see your Residence Director (available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.).  You also can contact the Office of Residential Life at 518-783-2919 for more information about any of these opportunities.
