Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy at Siena
Integrating classroom learning with hands-on service and social justice
St. Francis taught that knowledge must not extinguish the spirit of love and devotion, and that knowledge must establish a sense of meaning and purpose leading to good works. The Franciscan community recognizes that our full potential can only be realized in relation to others and by connecting knowledge to action.
The Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy calls on the Siena community to look beyond the boundaries of our campus to see how we may respond to the needs of the poor and marginalized in our local area, our nation and around the world.
Students volunteer during the year as individuals, teams, clubs and groups of friends to participate in annual and ongoing programs including:
Students can also engage with the Center as a minor, through seminars offered each semester and with internship experiences.
