The world’s need for competently trained finance professionals has never been greater. In addition to the academic requirements, an education that is influenced by high standards and values is equally important.

The Department of Finance and its faculty are dedicated to teaching students the nature and practice of financial decision making. Coupled with Siena’s tradition and environment of Franciscan values, students are provided with the framework necessary to become well-rounded, ethical and innovative thinkers.

The curriculum and methods of instruction are designed to develop the student’s ability to identify financial problems, analyze their impact, and design solutions to withstand critical examination. Courses include the full range of financial topics including:
  • Money & Banking
  • Managerial Finance
  • International Finance
  • Investments
  • Accounting
  • Strategic Management
  • Institutions
  • Case Problems

The finance major classroom work is supported by the Douglas T. Hickey ’77 Financial Technology Center, which houses the Alonge Accounting Lab and the Raub Market Trading Room. These resources give students real-world exposure to the data and tools used in the world’s largest financial centers.

Likewise, the Center for Global Financial Studies supports students’ learning, research and networking with those in financial services professions.

Finance students are prepared for fulfilling and successful careers or graduate study.
