Franciscan Young Adults

Franciscan Young Adults is a worldwide community of visionary and passionate young peope, inspired by St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi, who come together to live out their Christian discipleship.  Known throughout the world as YouFra or Jufra, Franciscan Young Adults form small communities that give support for putting faith into action.   YouFra members make a commitment to living the Gospel life of prayer, community, Franciscan simplicity, servant leadership, service for peace and justice, and caring for Creation.

Housed within the Franciscan Catholic community and tradition, but open to students of any Christian faith, Franciscan Young Adults at Siena College work closely with members of the Secular Franciscan Order, and engage in hands-on ministries and service projects in the greater Albany, New York area.  We meet regularly to pray, share faith, go on retreats, participate in ongoing faith formation in Scripture, the Franciscan tradition, and Catholic tradition, and in every way grow in our relationship with Christ.  Open to young men and women ages 18-28, YouFra may be from Siena College (or any other area college) or other non-college young adults and alumni.

We gather on Wednesday evenings at 5:30PM in the St. Francis Room of the Chapel, and do projects and field trips on weekends.  To get involved or to get more information on local Franciscan Young Adults, contact advisor Rob Breen, SFO at rbreen@siena.edu.  To learn about Franciscan Earth Corps, visit the website.
