In an effort to handle problems where they most often originate, as well as to maintain a degree of order and sanity at the College, the use of the Conduct Review Board in student conduct cases has emerged and grown.  The Review Board serves several important functions in the student conduct review system at Siena College:

  1. To educate students as to the responsibilities inherent in a campus community.  This includes abiding by policies where they are established for the safety and welfare of the community.
  2. To prepare residents for the "outside world" where each must assume responsibility for his or her actions.
  3. To provide a hearing body comprised of one's peers, who may be more aware of environmental needs and problems than an administrator.
  4. To provide leadership opportunities for those serving on the Board, as well as having those Board members provide an important service to the community.
  5. To interpret and protect the rights and responsibilities of individuals and the community.

Review Board members are responsible to Siena for administering a very important portion of the disciplinary process.  This is a tremendous responsibility given to each Board member by the College.  The manner in which Board members approach and accomplish this responsibility will either have a positive or negative impact on the atmosphere of the campus.
