About the Director
Dr. Michelle Liptak took over as Director of the Writing Center in the fall of 2006 and regularly teaches classes in writing and literature as well as those in the Women's Studies minor and the First-Year Seminar program.  Contact information:  Office-L05 / 782-6510 / mliptak@siena.edu

About the Consultants
We understand that writers never outgrow the need for intelligent objective readers. Writing Center consultants are trained to address a wide range of writing issues: they are careful, critical, and kind readers. All consultants employed in the Writing Center complete a three-credit course entitled "Peer Tutoring in Writing."

Consultants in the Writing Center at Siena College are not necessarily "expert" writers, but they are deeply interested in and committed to striving for excellence in their own work and genuinely desire to help others achieve the same.  They are curious about all writers' ideas, are eager to learn from the writers they encounter, and are articulate and astute in posing challenging questions to writers about their work.

Student Leaders
2011-2012 marks the fourth year for the Writing Center Student Leadership program.  Present leadership duties include helping with the daily operations within the Writing Center, promoting our services and special events, leading staff and in-class workshops, and working on special projects including an annual newsletter.  This year's recipients are:

John Gibson, Co-Student Leader and Writing Consultant

Michelle Campbell, Co-Student Leader and Writing Consultant
