Siena College’s signature program in Revolutionary Era Studies promotes awareness of the critical role New York played in the American Revolution and the founding of the American Republic. The Center collaborates with Saratoga National Historical Park and other Capitol Region historic sites to initiate academic and community programs that raise greater scholarly and personal awareness of New York’s Revolutionary Era history.
Chief among the Center’s programming initiatives are a Teacher’s Workshop presented in collaboration with Saratoga National Historical Park; an academic conference in Revolutionary Era Studies; a lecture series featuring a distinguished scholar in the Age of the American Revolution; and, a distinctive, multidisciplinary, undergraduate program in Revolutionary Era Studies. The Center for Revolutionary Studies is housed in the
History Department, and offers an undergraduate
Certificate in Revolutionary Era Studies. Certificate students engage in utilizing the region’s rich historical resources, including unique resources made available by the
Saratoga National Historical Park and Battlefield.
