Hayyim and Esther Kieval Institute for Jewish-Christian Studies

On Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. in the Norm (Serra Hall), the Hayyim and Esther Kieval Institute for Jewish-Christian studies will present the Town of Colonie Jewish Association Annual Lecture. Rabbi Eugene Korn will speak on "The Holocaust and the Covenant: Reflecting on Our Future." The lecture is free and open to the public.

The Kieval Institute’s programs bring the Franciscan vision of the college to life.

The Institute creates a learning atmosphere in which the wealth of human diversity can be celebrated on campus.

The Institute provides programming that improves the academic environment for Jewish faculty and students by making research funds available, improving the library's holdings and by bringing major scholars to the campus.

In conjunction with Sodexho food service and the Vaad HaKashruth of the Jewish Community Federation, the Institute provides kosher food during its events.

These  programs have created an opportunity for Jews and Christians to meet together to discuss areas of mutual concern, to express their diversity and rejoice in their commonalities.
