Environmental Studies

Welcome! Environmental Studies at Siena is on the move. We are the newest department within the School of Science, now offering a dual-track major leading to a BA in Environmental Studies or a BS in Environmental Science. We also offer a minor in Environmental Studies that can complement many other degree programs.

Today’s environmental professional must be an effective communicator as well as an inquisitive scientist. Our interdisciplinary curriculum prepares students to become ethical and capable environmental professionals by challenging them to explore the interconnected social and biophysical aspects of human impact on the natural world. By integrating field work, community engagement, internships, and geo-spatial analysis into a liberal arts curriculum, students gain the skills necessary to take their passion for the environment to the next level.

	Our program benefits from Siena's proximity to the scenic Hudson Valley and Adirondack Mountains, with their wealth of parklands and preserves, as well as the cultural resources of the NY Capital Region.
