Admission to Social Work ProgramStudents may declare social work as a major at any point. However, in accordance with national standards, formal admission to the program is by application. Siena students apply in the spring semester of their sophomore year, and transfer students apply no later than the summer before their junior year (following their acceptance into Siena College ). A minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 is recommended when applying, and is needed for advancement into the Senior internship.

After a review of these materials, an interview is held with two Social Work faculty to discusss the application information, clarify details of the Social Work Program, explore the student’s interests in a social work major, and ensure that the program is a good fit with the student’s abilities. Students will be notified of their acceptance to the Social Work Program within two weeks of the interview. |
