Jennifer McErlean is a Professor of Philosophy and Environmental Studies and has been a faculty member at Siena College for over twenty years. She is the Chair of the Philosophy Department and has served as Director of Women’s and Multicultural Studies. Dr. McErlean received her Ph.D. from the University of Rochester in 1988, specializing in the areas of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Science. Her current research interests include environmental justice as well as feminist and race studies, and she teaches courses in ethics, logic, philosophy of science, epistemology, and environmental ethics. Dr. McErlean served on the Executive Committee of the Albany branch of the NAACP for almost a decade and has worked extensively with the Albany City School District.
