Mr Ralph DiMarino
As Director of Field Experiences, Ralph coordinates student placements for both the field experience requirement of the core education courses and the student teaching requirement during the professional semester.
As the Education program’s certification officer, Ralph works with the New York State Education Department’s Office of Certification to recommend Siena students who have successfully completed the Teacher Preparation Program.
Ralph DiMarino joined the Siena College staff in 2006 after a career of more than 30 years in public education. Prior to Siena, Ralph taught history, was a Dean of Students, and served as a middle school assistant principal in the Ichabod Crane (Kinderhook) Central School District in Valatie, New York. He completed the final 20 years of his public school career as principal of Maple Hill High School in the Schodack Central School District in Castleton, New York. Ralph has also served in interim positions as principal of the Hudson Vocational Center operated by Questar III BOCES, as a Pupil Personnel Services Director and as a Curriculum Coordinator. He is currently a member of the Executive Board of the New York State Association of Teacher Educators (NYSATE), and serves as a mentor for the Questar III BOCES Principals’ Coaching Academy.
In 2002 Ralph was recognized as the High School Principal of the Year by the Greater Capital Region Principals’ Center. He has also been honored by WTEN as an Educator of Excellence, and has received commendations from Questar III BOCES, the Rensselaer County Legislature and parent support groups for his work with students.
