Changes to Siena College's Halloween FestivitiesThursday, October 29, 2009
Unfortunately, Siena’s annual campus trick-or-treating program has been cancelled. The Halloween tradition was scheduled for Friday afternoon, October 30th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the residence halls. It has been put on hold this year because Siena has had confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus. With the increase of H1N1 cases throughout the Capital Region, the college has decided to cancel trick-or-treating in the residence halls to minimize further exposure to school age children and Siena students participating in the event.
Children of all ages will still be able to have a howling good time celebrating on campus this Halloween. Capital Region children are welcome to participate in Siena’s 5th annual Halloween Extravaganza. On Saturday, October 31st from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., the Sarazen Student Union will be transformed into a haunted house-- guaranteed to make even the bravest souls squirm!
More than 20 student teams, clubs and organizations will help children enjoy a day of arts and crafts, games, costumes and fun. Admission is $5 per child (infants and adults are free). All of the proceeds benefit North Albany Girl Scout Troop #1430.
