Teaching
Dr. Smith-Hunter has been teaching at Siena since 1999. Prior to Siena, she was a Financial and then Marketing Analyst at Exxon Corporation. Dr. Smith-Hunter has taught courses such as Organization and Management, Organizational Behavior, Business Policy and Strategy, Strategic Management, Business and Organizational Communication and Diversity in Organizations.
Research/Professional Activities
Dr. Smith-Hunter's research area focuses on women entrepreneurs across racial lines. She has published several articles in a number of journals. Her first book, "Diversity and Entrepreneurship: Analyzing Successful Women Entrepreneurs" was published in 2003. Her second book, "Women Entrepreneurs Across Racial Lines: Issues of Human Capital, Financial Capital and Network Structures" is slated for publication in the Fall of 2004.
