EconomicsWhat do we do in economics? Adam Smith may have expressed it best: we inquire into the "nature and causes of the wealth of nations." What is this wealth? It could be life. It could be measured by those who have the least. Or by liberty, happiness, or a clean, sustainable environment. Our concern might be global, or it might be local. Economics concerns itself with all of this. The Economics Department focuses on helping students apply economic ideas and data to policy issues. This is accomplished through work on research, problem solving, writing, and development quantitative and analytic analysis. Students develop their abilities within individual courses, and through the cumulative experience of a major or minor in Economics. Siena College offers both a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Economics, and a minor in Economics. The B.S. in Economics Last edited 5/24/10 |
