Admissions
The program was designed primarily for current Siena College Accounting majors wishing to stay for their fifth year and take advantage of the small class environment and student centric faculty they are accustom to. The admission committee will consider applicants from other colleges who have an accounting degree and Siena students from other majors who have the prerequisite courses.
Siena College Accounting Majors
Must have completed their junior year and have completed, or have in progress, Commercial Transactions (BLAW 210) and all Accounting core courses (Intermediate Accounting I & II (ACCT 300 & 305),Taxation (ACCT 340) and Cost Accounting (ACCT 350), and Accounting Information Systems (ACCT 370))
- GMAT not required for Siena students and Siena alumni out of Siena for less than five years with a GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Student with a GPA 3.1 or higher but below 3.3 are required to take the GMAT and attain a Georgetown Index of at least 1130.
- B or better in four out of five Accounting core courses
All applicants are required to submit:
- Complete application form. (.pdf)
- Official transcripts from all college and universities from which they have earned credit
- Official GMAT score results, if required, should have a Georgetown Index of at least 1130.
- One letter of recommendation written by an Accounting faculty member at their bachelor's degree granting institution
- Brief statement indicating (1) the reason for pursuing an MS in accounting and (2) intended long term career goals
- Current resume, including employment history, certificates or licenses held, volunteer/extracurricular activities, leadership positions and honors/awards
- $50 fee (waived for Siena College undergraduate applicants)
