  • The friars welcome three new members of our community: Bishop Capistran Heim, O.F.M., retired from many years of missionary work in Brazil; Fr. Russell Murray, O.F.M., who will be the new Director of the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy; and Bro. Edgardo Zea, O.F.M., a friar in formation who is spending his internship year with us.

Fr. Linh Hoang, O.F.M.

Br. Linh Hoang photo(1)Fr. Linh Hoang, O.F.M. was born in Vietnam and grew up in Kansas. He is the youngest of six children. He graduated from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium with a BA in philosophy, and received his M.A. in theology and M. Div. from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. Fr. Linh entered the Franciscans in 2002, professed first vows in 2004, and was ordained a priest on May 16, 2009. He received his Ph.D. in Theology from Fordham University in 2006. Fr. Linh teaches full-time in the Department of Religious Studies and serves as a Friar in Residence in Hines Hall.
