Fr. Daniel P. Dwyer, O.F.M.

Fr. Dan Dwyer photoFr. Daniel P. Dwyer, O.F.M. made his first profession on June 4, 1983, and was ordained a priest on Sept. 10, 1988. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Tulane University. In addition to his work in the History Department, Fr. Daniel frequently celebrates the liturgy at our Lady of Fatima Church in Schenectady.

Fr. Daniel has an eclectic array of extracurricular interests. As an avid genealogist, he has traced some of his ancestors back to the 12th century. His love of genealogy has also sparked a deep love for old cemeteries and a membership in the Friends of Albany Rural Cemetery. Fr. Daniel is probably the only friar in Holy Name Province who is also a member of the Mormon History Association.

When he is not busy in church, college or cemetery, Fr. Daniel is often involved with his many relatives, most of whom live nearby.
