Siena College Friary

Mission Statement:

Called by the Holy Spirit to serve the Kingdom of God as ministers within the Catholic Church, and as brothers living the Gospel in the Franciscan Province of the Most Holy Name, we, the members of the Franciscan Community at Siena College, affirm the following as our mission:

We declare ourselves to be guided by the centrality of prayer and a preferential option for those seeking an education in the liberal arts. In the spirit of the Gospel of Christ, we also aim to serve the local church through other ministries.

As brothers we come together from different backgrounds to work in the church and the world as educators and ministers. As Friars Minor we are committed to peace, justice and the integrity of creation and to making those values concrete in the lives of those we serve.

Accepting and living the Gospel, our Siena College Fraternity aspires to be a powerful witness in a fragmented world. We extend Christian hospitality to all who come to us. As friars we are personally committed to evangelization and to the use of the technology of the modern world to educate people and bring the Franciscan message to a world looking for hope.
