Dr. Larry Rasmussen is the Reinhold Niebuhr Professor of Social Ethics at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Dr. Rasmussen graduated with a B.A. from St. Olaf College in 1961. He received the B.D. from Luther Theological Seminary in 1965, and the Th.D. from Union Theological Seminary in 1970. He is a lay theologian of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. His current work in Christian ethics includes analysis of power, methodological issues in Bible and ethics, technology and ecology. Dr. Rasmussen asks us to consider "How do deep-running and widely shared religious traditions speak to the forces that cause environmental degradation?"  Please join us for an evening of conversation and questions as we seek to discover some solutions to the present world-wide environmental degradation.
