The “Siena House” in North Albany is born out of the partnership of the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy, the Habitat Club with support from Prime Companies. This venture is the next step in the ongoing collaboration between Siena College, Prime Companies, and Capital District Habitat for Humanity. This exciting endeavor commemorates and celebrates the ten year anniversary of the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy and the Habitat for Humanity Club.
As a Franciscan community we are called to embody the vision and values of St. Francis. Our heritage encourages us to be in service to the poor and marginalized and to work together as a community with friendship and respect. I can think of no better way to demonstrate these values and express our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in need right here in the Capital District than to fully support this exceptional opportunity.
In that spirit we invite the entire Siena community to come together and support this project. One way you can help is to volunteer your time at the Siena House site on Pearl Street. If a hammer and nail isn’t your forte you can also support this project by making a onetime monetary donation. Any amount will help us reach our goal of $35,000 which is the amount of the house sponsorship. To volunteer or donate please contact the Franciscan Center for Service and Advocacy.
In true Siena spirit, with a touch of Habitat passion, we hope that you will join us in welcoming the “Siena House” and its new owners into the Siena family.
