Standish Library

The J. Spencer and Patricia Standish Library is one of the most significant projects in the history of Siena College.

At 71,000-square-feet, the Standish Library is more than three times the size of Siena's previous facility, and has been flexibly designed so that it can respond and adapt to changes in information and educational technologies -- ensuring this library will serve generations to come.

Given its distinctive characteristics and prominent position on campus, the Standish Library makes a powerful statement about the primacy of the College's academic mission. As the intellectual heart of the college, the Standish Library serves as a vital teaching and learning center and is a prime asset for attracting and retaining students and faculty of the highest caliber.

The Standish Library is a joy to use. It combines the most desirable aspects of traditional academic libraries -- comfortable reading areas, browseable open shelves and helpful professional staff -- with the most up-to-date technology needed to take advantage of the rich resources of today's online environment.
